Description
No-Rot Gel Industrial is an heavy duty, clear, viscous, ready to use brush on wood preservative, to control the spread of decay in industrial and domestic applications. This timber treatment is a water based formulation which allows penetration by diffusion into the timber. NO-ROT GEL INDUSTRIAL treated timber will allow the surface to be painted. No-Rot Gel Industrial can also be used to kill surface mould, algae or fungi on wood, masonry or concrete surfaces. No-Rot Gel Industrial is also suitable to prevent the attack of wood destroying insects such as termites and borer However this will only treat in the immediate area of timber directly treated.
Recommended Uses
No-Rot Gel Industrial can be used as a timber treatment to prevent or cure localised decay, mildew or insect attack. It is ideal for use in external timber structural members such as posts, bearers, joists and stringers as well as areas such as timber window frames. It is recommended that any exterior exposed timber treated with NO-ROT GEL INDUSTRIAL be painted with an oil or water based paint to seal in the product. It may also be used in internal timber such as framing where moisture is a problem, such as bathrooms or under subfloors with poor ventilation.
Restraints
NO-ROT GEL INDUSTRIAL is not to be used on timber exposed to rain (ie without a painted finish or surface coat), timber in contact with the ground, or surfaces that come into contact with foodstuffs or drinking water.
Limitations
NO-ROT GEL INDUSTRIAL will not restore timber severely damaged by rot and termite attack. Unsound wood within any timber structure should be replaced. The new wood must then be treated with NO-ROT GEL INDUSTRIAL to prevent deterioration in the future.
If you have an active termite infestation, then NO-ROT GEL INDUSTRIAL is not a suitable barrier timber treatment or termitacide. It will only protect the timbers treated so any untreated timber is still prone to attack. It is recommended you contact a registered pest control specialist to eradicate the termite colony.
Areas Where Decay and White Ant Attack Normally Occur
Decay attacks occur in timber that becomes wet for prolonged periods. Key situations in which timber becomes wet and therefore should be treated with NO-ROT GEL INDUSTRIAL are:
- If timber is subjected to long wet periods or high humidity
- Interfaces and joints that trap moisture
- Around drill and bolt holes
Directions For Use
Apply NO-ROT GEL INDUSTRIAL to the timber surface using a brush, roller, dipping or spray. If the timber is very dry, it is best to dampen the timber with water, allow the water to soak in which will allow better penetration of No-Rot Gel Industrial. For effective treatment against decay, mould and insect attack, use the following table apply the correct dosage to the timber.
Preventative Treatment | 5 ml of No-Rot Gel Industrial 1000 cm3 |
---|---|
Remedial / Insecticide Treatment | 10 ml of No-Rot Gel Industrial per 1000 cm3 |
Recommended rate per Square metre
RECOMMENDED DOSAGE RATES PER SQUARE METER | |||
---|---|---|---|
Required depth of diffusion into the timber surface | 0-25mm | 25-50mm | 50-100mm |
Amount of NO-ROT GEL required per square meter | 500ml | 1 litre | 2 litres |
For high dosage rates (Remedial/Insecticide), No-Rot Gel Industrial will require 2 coats. Allow 2-3 hours between coats.
Painting Over No-Rot Gel Industrial
Timber treated with No-Rot Gel Industrial can be painted over with either oil or water based paints, primers and undercoats. For best results, allow 5 – 8 days for the timber to thoroughly dry and use a quality primer/undercoat.
